Started Gojuryu training in 2001 in Elora under Sensei Jay Purdy and switched to Meibukan Gojuryu in 2003 under Sensei Steve Lynch in Alliston and recieved my Shodan in 2007. In 2009 recieved my Nidan under Sensei Mark Matthews in Guelph. I have been very fortuante and honoured to train with Hanshi Meitatsu Yagi and his eldest son Renshi Akihito Yagi on numerous occassions, and also trained with Renshi Ken Trebilcock in Brantford.
I Started training in Karate for the physcial activity but have found it is now a passion, I love the personal challenges of trying to perfect a kata, and then pulling it apart for the possible self defence applications (bunkai). I also love the spiritual aspect, and self disipline in karate, and meeting some great people along the way. I have found a second family in Meibukan.
